Overview
1. Water inlet parts
Water inlet parts consist of connecting pipe, turbine inlet valve and expansion joint. Turbine inlet valve is used to close the unit in static water when need stop, it is also used to close the unit and cut the water flow in dynamic water when the unit is in emergency and turbine distributor break down. Expansion joint is used to compensate installation error and for the convenience of maintenance. Water drainage valve is located on the bottom. One end of connecting pipe is connected with the turbine inlet valve; another end is connected with the pipe of power plant (welded at site).
2. Spiral case
Spiral case is welding part, equipped with fixed guide vane in it. Spiral case shall make the water become number of swirl of water flow and guide water to flow regularly into guide vane apparatus and runner along circumference. It is equipped with an air relieve valve on the top of spiral case to exhaust air when filling water initially.
3. Turbine distributor
It consists of guide vane, guide vane lever, shaft sleeve, front cover, back cover, etc. It can form or change number of swirls of water flow to adjust turbine discharge according to variation of load. It is also used to normal and emergency shut down. The shape, dimensions, quantity and position of the 16 guide vanes is similar to the accepted model turbine, shall ensure the water flow won't cause vibration during operating. Diameter of spacing circle of guide vane is 860 mm. The guide vane has the hydraulic torque performance of self-close trend within the range from full opening to near no-load opening. The maximum opening of guide vane shall have certain margin. Stop block is equipped for each guide vane, the guide vane can be controlled to swing with certain range and won't hit with other guide vanes when the shear pin is broken and the friction device between guide vane and guide vane lever is out of service. The guide vane is made of ZG230-450, they shall be interchangeable. Each guide vane is machined precisely; the contacting line of adjacent guide vanes shall be finished to ensure perfect contact of all guide vanes under closing state in order to reduce water leakage. The bearings for guide vane shaft and distributor shaft are self-lubricated sliding bearings; the bearing shoe adopts steel back complex material. Use guide vane lever end cover and bolt to adjust and keep the position of each guide vane to the front cover and the rear cover. The sealing is located on upper guide vane shaft to cut the flow. The control ring is made by cast steel as a whole. Circular wiring plate is located on the external circumference of the control ring. The control ring has enough strength and rigidity, won't occur excessive bending due to unbalance stress of servomotor.
4. Runner
Runner is the heart of the turbine; it can transfer water energy to mechanic energy. Runner is welded as a whole, crown, band and blade is made of stainless steel ZG0Cr13Ni4Mo which has perfect performance of anti-cavitation, anti- corrosion and weldable. Crown and band adopts gap type sealing to reduce water leakage. Shape of each runner blade shall be machined according to standard GB/T 10969 "Specifications for water passage components of hydraulic turbines". The runner is welded and heat treated according to special specification, subject to non-destructive inspection according to ASME standard. The runner is subject to static balance testing after machining. Sixteen φ22 holes are located on runner crown in order to reduce the pressure applied on runner by the water.
5. Main shaft part
It consists of main shaft, fly wheel, etc. This type of hydraulic power generating unit adopts four fulcrums construction. Main shaft is made of 45# quality carbon construction steel. Disc type cast fly wheel transient stabilizes the unit when adjusting. Connect the main shaft and the runner by flat key to satisfy the interchangeable. Connect the turbine and generator by spring coupler for easy installation.
6. Main shaft service sealing
Main shaft service sealing is packing set, located on main shaft pass through the front cover. The service sealing is close, anti-friction, simple, easy to observe, maintenance and replace. Stainless steel shaft sleeve is located where the main shaft contacting with the packing. The packing is made of reinforced PTFE, anti-friction, anti-corrosion.
7. Draft tube assembly
Draft tube assembly consists of diffusing pipe, draft tube elbow and draft tube cone, guide the water flow into lower stream, make use of the potential energy of water flow at suction height, recycle major kinetic energy of the flow at runner outlet by its diffusion. All connecting flange shall be sealed, immersed depth of draft tube shall not be less than 40cm to prevent air entering into draft tube. Air admission device: Natural air is filled to lower of runner through the top of diffusing pipe to ensure steady operation of turbine when the guide vane under partial opening.
8. Servomotor assembly
It consists of servomotor, fork and ear pin.
Governor adjusts the opening of guide vane through servomotor, fork, ear pin and control ring according to the change of load.
9. Pressure gauge and vacuum gauge
Pressure gauge is located on spiral case for observing the pressure in spiral case. Vacuum gauge is located on diffusing pipe for observing the degree of vacuum of tailrace water. Cocks shall be equipped on pressure gauge and vacuum gauge piping for close and open the piping.
10. Braking device
It adopts 2 pneumatic piston type brakes, service pressure is 0.5~0.7 MPa.
Adopt pneumatic principle for the brake. Provide pressure source through seamless steel pipe to the brake, push the brake plate to rub the fly wheel to stop the unit. In case there is air leakage during operating, adopt appropriate method to solve it, such as tighten the loose nut by spanner or replace sealing material. The stroke of piston is 25mm. Adopt braking only when unit speed drops to below 30 % of rated speed!
