Turgo Turbine Overview
The Turgo inclined-jet turbine is engineered for power stations operating with high head and low flow conditions. Water flows from the reservoir through diversion pipes and nozzles, striking runner blades at high velocity to generate rotational energy. After passing through the runner, water discharges into the tailwater tank and downstream channel.
Designed for small hydropower stations with heads ranging from 20-200 meters, this turbine drives hydrogenerators to produce electrical energy. Available in vertical and horizontal shaft configurations with bearing shell structures, it supports automatic, manual, and electric speed regulation systems.

Advanced Engineering Design
The turbine features an inclined runner blade axis, creating water flow that angles toward the unit axis. The welded inclined volute connects to a cast-welded seat ring with twelve struts inclined at 35° to horizontal.
The 45° inclined guide water mechanism includes 24 guide blades, transmission components, turbine top cover, and bottom ring. Guide vanes feature double-supported symmetrical airfoils with wooden bearings lubricated by flowing water, while rubber bowls prevent water leakage in upper journals.
The runner chamber is precision-welded from die-forged stainless steel with finished inner surfaces. Ten stainless steel blades cast at 45° angles are driven by a scraper relay system, enabling 30° blade rotation for optimal performance.
