50kW Turgo Turbine Generator - High Head Small Mini Crossflow Propeller Reaction
Turgo Turbine Overview
The Turgo inclined-jet turbine is specifically designed for power stations with high head and low flow conditions. Water flows from the reservoir or pressure pool through the diversion pipe, then through a nozzle at high speed onto the runner blades, driving the runner to rotate. After passing through the runner, water falls into the tailwater tank and drains into the downstream channel.
This turbine is ideal for small hydropower stations with water heads ranging from 20-200 meters, driving hydrogenerators to produce electrical energy. Available in vertical and horizontal shaft arrangements with bearing and bearing shell structures, it supports automatic, manual, and electric speed regulation systems.
Technical Design Features
The Turgo turbine features an inclined unit axis where water flows at an angle to the unit axis. The inclined volute is welded to a cast-welded structure seat ring with twelve struts inclined at 35° to the horizontal line.
The 45° inclined guide water mechanism consists of 24 guide blades, transmission mechanism, turbine top cover, and bottom ring. Guide vanes feature a double-supported structure with symmetrical airfoils that vary with height, using wooden bearings automatically lubricated by flowing water.
The runner chamber is welded from die-forged stainless steel plate with a finished inner surface. Ten runner blades are cast from stainless steel at a 45° angle to the main shaft axis, with blade rotation controlled by a scraper relay operating at a 30° angle.
The inclined volute and seat ring design creates a straight flow passage from volute to draft pipe, improving turbine efficiency while reducing the unit's plane size.
